Man says manager caused him to leave job

CHICAGO — A man is suing Jason Freewalt, his former workplace manager, citing alleged discrimination, hostile work environment, retaliation and wrongful termination.

Mark Rees filed a complaint on June 15 in Cook County Circuit Court against Freewalt, alleging that the manager discriminated against the plaintiff and made derogatory statement about him.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he experienced several insults and was subjected to hostility during his employment despite being an excellent performer. The plaintiff holds Freewalt responsible because the defendant allegedly continued to belittle plaintiff and was allegedly responsible for being demoted.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount in excess of $50,000 plus court costs. He is represented by Wayne Rhine of Wayne Rhine in Chicago.
