Mammogram wasn't evaluated properly, plaintiff claims

Medical malpractice 01

CHICAGO — An administrator of a deceased woman's estate is suing Kevin Kirshenbaum, M.D.; Integrated Imaging Consultants LLC; Illinois Masonic Medical Center; and Advocate Health Care, health providers, alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.

Francisco Adame, as independent administrator of the estate of Rosa Alvarado, filed a complaint on June 20 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants alleging that they failed to properly evaluate Rosa Alvarado's condition.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 16, 2013, Rosa Alvarado underwent a bilateral digital diagnostic mammogram that was not properly evaluated, causing her condition to worsen and eventually contributing to or causing her death. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to properly evaluate and interpret Alvarado's mammogram results.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of the jurisdictional amount of the court. He is represented by John G. Kelly and Matthew J. McCarter of Kelly & Ignoffo Law Group, P.C. in Chicago.
