CHICAGO — An administrator of a deceased woman's estate is suing Niles Nursing and Rehabilitation Center LLC, d/b/a Niles Nursing & Rehab Center, a nursing care facility, alleging that negligence led to a nursing home resident's choking death.

Janet Dickinson, as independent administrator of the will annexed of the estate of her sister, Arlene A. Dagres, filed a complaint on June 22 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendant, alleging that the nursing care facility failed to provide care to Dagres.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 8, 2014, Arlene A. Dagres choked on her food and died of asphyxiation. The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to provide adequate supervision and assistance to Dagres.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount in excess of $50,000. She is represented by Matthew K. Henry of Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates, P.C. in Chicago.
