Man says throat procedures were done improperly

Medical malpractice 03

CHICAGO — A man is suing Gottlieb Memorial Hospital, Henry V. Giancinto, M.D., and Northern Illinois Emergency & Occupational Medicine Specialists, S.C., alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.

Thomas Allo filed a complaint on June 30 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide him with proper medical care.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that a July 3, 2014 intubation and an extubation the next day were done improperly, causing a metal object to be lodged in his throat and leading to a case of thrush. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly performed procedures improperly, worsening his condition.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of the jurisdictional requisite of the court. He is represented by Michael S. Shinsky of Kralovec, Jambois & Schwartz in Chicago.
