CHICAGO — An attorney-in-fact is suing Manor Care of Oak Lawn (East) IL, LLC, d/b/a Manorcare Health Services - Oak Lawn East, and South Suburban Rehabilitation Center, LLC, d/b/a South Suburban Rehab Center, alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries in nursing home care.

Robert Thompson, as attorney-in-fact for L.C. Thompson, filed a complaint on June 30 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide proper care to Thompson.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Thompson was not properly assisted to prevent the development of pressure sores and also did not receive proper assistance with a colostomy bag. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for these alleged failings that the suit says led to a diminished quality of life for Thompson.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of $50,000 plus court costs. He is represented by Margaret P. Battersby Black and Mark K. Volk of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
