Firefighter sues after alleged attack, false accusations

CHICAGO — A paramedic/firefighter for the Village of Dolton is suing the village and fellow paramedic/firefighter Anton Downing, alleging abuse of process, malicious prosecution and battery.

Brandon C. Williams filed a complaint on July 6 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that Downing made false claims that the plaintiff had lewd and lascivious photos of Downing's wife.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2015, he was physically assaulted by Downing, and also faced criminal prosecution on charges of obscenity based on Downing's claims. The plaintiff says the criminal charges were ultimately dismissed. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for Downing's alleged accusations and assault.

The plaintiff asks for an order that the village provide the plaintiff's attorney with a complete and unredacted copy of the plaintiff's personnel file. and seeks court costs from the defendants. He is represented by Stephen C. Debboli of Stephen C. Debboli in Chicago.
