Patient blames doctor for shoulder infection

Medical malpractice 05

CHICAGO — A woman is suing Ho Min Lim, M.D., alleging negligence in health care.

Lorraine Kurek filed a complaint on July 6 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendant, alleging that the doctor failed to provide proper medical care and treatment to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 5, 2014, she underwent a cyst removal procedure that resulted in a massive shoulder joint infection. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to properly evaluate the plaintiff's condition and failing to perform proper surgery on the plaintiff, which introduced further medical conditions including the shoulder infection.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount in excess of $50,000 plus court costs. She is representing herself.
