Nursing home accused of failing to provide proper supervision

CHICAGO — An administrator of a deceased woman's estate is suing Alden - Des Plaines Rehabilitation and Health Care Center Inc., d/b/a Alden - Des Plaines, in a wrongful death claim alleging negligence in nursing home care.

Julie Baker, as independent administrator for the estate of Annie Watts, filed a complaint on July 22 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendant, alleging that the nursing home failed to properly take care of Annie Watts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that during Watts' residency in Alden - Des Plaines, she developed pressure ulcers and also fell and fractured her hip. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to provide adequate supervision to Watts.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount in excess of $50,000. She is represented by Bella Feinstein of Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates, P.C. in Chicago.
