Boy, father claim negligence by perfusionists

Medical malpractice 02

CHICAGO — A patient and his father are suing perfusionists Pamela Kutz and Gregory Mork, alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.

Plaintiff Louis Guido Sr. filed a complaint on July 26 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to exercise caution while performing a procedure on his son.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Nov. 29, 2011, the boy  sustained severe injuries. The plaintiffs hold Pamela Kutz and Gregory Mork responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to monitor a cardiopulmonary bypass machine for any air bubbles and take certain steps to make sure that air bubbles didn't enter the machine.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of the jurisdictional limits of the court. They are represented by Eric D. Jones of Tarpey, Jones & Schroeder, LLC in Chicago.
