CHICAGO — An administrator of a deceased woman's estate is suing UCP Seguin of Greater Chicago Foundation, Seguin Retarded Citizens Association Inc, United Cerebral Palsy Seguin of Greater Chicago, UCP Housing Corporation NFP and Chicago Transit Authority in a wrongful death claim alleging failure by an assisted-living facility and the transit agency to provide proper assistance and/or suprervision.
Sharon Urban, as independent administrator of the estate of Carol Camphouse, filed a complaint on Aug. 17 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide adequate assistance to Carol Camphouse while on board a CTA bus.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 27, 2015, Carol Camphouse sustained physical injuries including a fractured left hip when she fell while attempting to retrieve her walker while inside a CTA bus, which contributed to or caused her death on Sept. 11, 2015. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide adequate supervision at all times to Carol Camphouse.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by Tara R. Devine of Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. in Chicago.
