Company claims construction firm botched, then abandoned renovation projects

Contract 01

CHICAGO — A Chicago company is suing Block Construction LLC, alleging breach of contract in the allegedly botched renovations of three of its properties.

Miller Broadcast Management Inc. filed a complaint on Aug. 26 in Cook County Circuit Court against Block Construction LLC, alleging that the defendant allowed unlicensed contractors to work on the plaintiff's projects and abandoned the projects before completion.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages due to the abandonment of the project which it had already paid for. The plaintiff holds Block Construction LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to perform its contractual agreement with the plaintiff by finishing the project in a good and workmanlike manner.

The plaintiff seeks actual and compensatory damages of more than $30,000, interest at the rate of 5 percent per annum, court costs and any further relief the court grants. It is represented by Robert Radasevich and Valerie R. Raedy of Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg LLP in Chicago.
