CHICAGO — A deceased man's family has filed a wrongful death claim alleging negligence in nursing home care.

Michael Thirkield, as independent administrator of the estate of Willie Thirkield, is suing Brentwood Operating Company LLC, d/b/a Brentwood Sub-Acute Healthcare Center, alleging negligence and failure to provide proper care. The plaintiff filed the complaint on Sept. 14 in Cook County Circuit Court.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Willie Thirkield developed pressure ulcers that contributed to or caused his death.
