CHICAGO — A couple and their son have filed a complaint alleging doctors didn't properly treat the boy's leg, leading to permanent nerve injury.

Michael and Christine Donoghue and their son filed a complaint on Sept. 27 in Cook County Circuit Court against a doctor, identified as E. Quinn Regan, M.D., Illinois Bone and Joint Institute LLC, Northwest Community Hospital, and other individuals, alleging that the boy's broken leg was not treated properly.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that following a broken bone in 2014, their son suffered permanent injury due to improper care. The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to treat the boy in a way that would have prevented nerve injury.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendants in an amount sufficient to compensate them for their damages plus interest and court costs. They are represented by Donald A. Shapiro and Lauren D. Cohen of Donald A. Shapiro, Ltd. in Chicago.
