Carbon Live Fire Mexican Grill accused of serving food that led to physical harm

CHICAGO — A man is suing Carbon on 26th LLC, which does business as Carbon Live Fire Mexican Grill, alleging negligence and liability in connection with tainted or improperly prepared food.

Darrell Pernell filed a complaint on Oct. 12 in Cook County Circuit Court against Carbon Live Fire Mexican Grill, alleging that the establishment served steak tacos that were not fit to be consumed.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in June, he suffered physical harm from eating spoiled or improperly prepared food he said the restaurant served to him.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000. He is represented by Sean M. Houlihan of Power Rogers & Smith, P.C. in Chicago.
