Woman sues The Pride Stores for injuries from Schaumburg gas pump fire

CHICAGO — A woman is suing The Pride Stores Inc., alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent damages in connection with a gas pump fire at The Pride of Schaumburg, a gas station.

Anissa Lampley filed a complaint on Oct. 26 in Cook County Circuit Court against The Pride Stores, alleging that the gas station failed to properly maintain its gas pumps.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in October 2015, she suffered personal and pecuniary damages when she was fueling her car and a gas pump erupted in flames. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedy failing to properly inspect the gas pump and make sure that it was safe.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of the court plus court costs. She is represented by Kevin J. McNamara of Kevin McNamara Law Offices, P.C. in Chicago.
