Nursing facility accused of negligent conditions that led to a broken hip

CHICAGO — A family member is suing Victory Centre fo Vernon Hills, a nursing facility, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries and negligence to his relative.

Efrain Perez, Jr., as independent administrator of the estate of Efrain Perez-Traverso, Sr. filed a complaint on Nov. 16, in the Cook County Circuit Court against Victory Centre alleging that the nursing facility failed to provide proper care to Efrain Perez-Traverso, Sr.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Perez-Traverso experienced pain from suffering a fall that caused a fracture on his right hip and which contributed to the deterioration of his health, after the defendant allegedly failed to implement a care plan to properly address Perez-Traverso Sr.'s fall risk.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000. He is represented by David M Resis of Law Offices of Steven J. Malman in Chicago.
