Rush University Medical Center accused of providing negligent care to woman

Medical malpractice 06

CHICAGO – An estate administrator alleges a Chicago medical facility failed to provide proper medical care to her decedent.

Donna Thomas, as independent administrator of the estate of Vivian Anderson, filed a complaint on Nov. 23 in Cook County Circuit Court against Rush University Medical Center, individually and doing business as Alzheimer's Family Care Center, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Anderson fell while under the defendant's care, which fractured her hip. The plaintiff claims the injury was left untreated for a time, which deteriorated Anderson's overall condition. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to provide adequate supervision to Anderson.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount of more than $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by David M. Resis of The Law Offices of Steven J. Malman in Chicago.
