Woman claims Chicago doctor failed to provide proper care

Medical malpractice 05

CHICAGO — A woman is suing Dr. Michael Appiagyei, of Chicago, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries and negligence.

Latisha Murphy, as special administrator of the estate of Mary Murphy, filed a complaint on Jan. 12 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Appiagyei, alleging the physician failed to provide proper medical care to Mary Murphy.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Murphy experienced pain from having developed pressure ulcers. Latisha Murphy holds Appiagyei responsible because he allegedly failed to provide adequate supervision to Murphy to decrease the chances of her developing pressure ulcer.

Latisha Murphy requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against Appiagyei in an amount greater than $50,000, plus any further relief the court grants. She is represented by Stephan D. Blandin and Michael E. Holden of Romanucci & Blandin, LLC in Chicago.
