Glencrest Healthcare & Rehab Centre, Waterfront Terrace accused of inadequate supervision

CHICAGO — A deceased woman's family has filed a wrongful death claim against Glencrest Healthcare and Rehabilitation Centre and Waterfront Terrace, alleging negligence in nursing home care.

Joyce Brown, as independent administrator of the estate of Joan Brown, filed a complaint on Feb. 2 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide proper care to Joan Brown.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges  Brown developed pressure ulcers that contributed to her death. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to provide adequate supervision to Brown to prevent the development of pressure ulcers.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Marc S. Weissman of Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates, P.C. in Chicago.
