CHICAGO — A man is suing Official Cuts Inc. and related entities, alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.

Isam Abughazaleh filed a complaint on Feb. 6 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that an employee of the shop applied a substance to the plaintiff's scalp that caused a painful reaction.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 28, 2015, the substance was applied, causing swelling, infection and chemical burns. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the employee allegedly failed to determine whether the plaintiff was susceptible to harm from the substance and did not wash it off or remove it.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. He is represented by Kevin J. Golden of Dudley & Lake LLC in Chicago.
