CHICAGO — A man's son is suing a nursing facility, saying personnel there didn't do enough to prevent his father from suffering several maladies, including pressure ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding and resultant choking.
Teddy Groves, as independent administrator of the estate of Theodore Daniels, filed a complaint on Feb. 15 in Cook County Circuit Court against Symphony of Bronzeville, alleging the nursing facility failed to provide proper medical care to Daniels.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Daniels experienced pain from developing a pressure ulcer. The plaintiff holds Symphony of Bronzeville responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide adequate supervision to Daniels in order to prevent him from choking and develop pressure ulcer.
Daniels died in September 2015, the complaint said.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000, plus court costs. He is represented by Terrence E. Davey of The Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates P.C. in Chicago.
