CHICAGO — A man is suing Walgreen Co., alleging negligence in connection with a drug prescribed for him by a doctor and filled at a Walgreens pharmacy.

Cicero Chimbanda filed a complaint on Feb. 21 in Cook County Circuit Court against Walgreens, alleging one of its drug stores dispensed the prescription drug, Isoniazid, to him, even though he says the company should have been aware of his vision problems, which were allegedly worsened by the drug's side effects.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges his already troubled vision was further diminished after taking the drug in February. He alleged Walgreens failed to consult with his physician or instruct him to consult with his physician before consuming the drug.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $30,000 plus any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Andrew J. Fink of Solis Law Firm, P.C. in Cicero.

Chimbanda had earlier filed suit over similar claims against his physician and others related to his use of the prescription drug.
