CHICAGO — A Chicago man is suing It's a Dunn Deal LLC for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent him from falling down a staircase the plaintiff claims was obstructed by a kitchen appliance.
Lawrence Simmons filed a lawsuit on March 7 in Cook County Circuit Court alleging the defendants failed to make sure their property was safe.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges he fell and injured himself on March 11, 2015. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly allowing the staircase to remain in a defective condition.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000, plus court costs. He is represented by Lawrence T. Ruder of Goldberg Weisman Cairo in Chicago.
