CHICAGO — The guardian of a disabled patient is suing South Loop Living & Rehab Center LLC, which does business as Warren Barr South Loop, Legacy Healthcare Financial Services LLC and Progressive Healthcare Consulting LLC for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent the patient from developing pressure sores and heal existing ones.
Naketia Johnson, plenary guardian of Wanda Fox, filed a lawsuit on March 8 in Cook County Circuit Court alleging the defendants failed to provide Fox with proper care.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Fox experienced pain from having developed pressure sores. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to adequately supervise Fox to prevent her from developing pressure sores.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Michael F. Bonamarte and W. Kent Winingham of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
