CHICAGO — A patient's representative is suing health providers, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries and negligence.
Maria Molinaro-Whalen, independent administrator of the estate of Christopher Edward Whalen, filed a complaint on March 9 in Cook County Circuit Court against
CEP America-Illinois LLP; Dr. Ethan Meisel; Dr. Mark Goode, RML Health Providers Limited Partnership, Pulmonary and Critical Care Physicians P.C., Dr. Robert J. Kash, Dr. John Berry and Dr. Ameet Parikh, alleging they failed to provide proper medical care to Whalen.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Whalen experienced pain from suffering from cardiopulmonary arrest. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to provide adequate medical treatment to prevent further pulmonary embolization. He later died, according to the complaint.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court plus court costs. She is represented by Brian Hurst of Beutel Hurst Boleky LLC in Chicago.
