Manorcare Health Services allegedly failed to take measures to prevent sexual assault

CHICAGO — A patient and her guardian are suing Manorcare Health Services-Rolling Meadows, a long-term care facility, alleging insufficient measures were taken to prevent sexual assault at its facility.

Amanda Mocogni, guardian of the patient, filed a lawsuit on March 9 in Cook County Circuit Court alleging the long-term care facility failed to provide proper care.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege the patient  sustained physical injuries from being sexually assaulted, and Manorcare allegedly failed to provide adequate supervision to to prevent the assault.

The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000, plus court costs. They are represented by Margaret P. Battersby Black and Andrew R. Manno of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
