South Suburban Rehab Center allegedly failed to take measures to keep patient from fracturing skull

CHICAGO — A patient's guardian is suing South Suburban Rehab Center for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent a patient from falling and fracturing his skull.

Audrey Abner, plenary guardian of the estate and person of Bruce Alvin Taylor, filed a lawsuit on March 13 in Cook County Circuit Court alleging the nursing facility failed to provide adequate supervision and assistance to Taylor in order to address his risk of falling.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000, plus court costs. She is represented by Kristen N. Koeller of Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates P.C. in Chicago.
