CHICAGO — A former patient is suing Wexford Health Sources Inc., a Florida corporation, and four employees, for alleged breach of contract and violation of civil rights.

Bob A. Brinson filed a lawsuit on March 2 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois alleging the defendants failed to provide him with proper dietary accommodations to address his polycystic kidney disease (PKD).

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges he sustained serious physical injuries after his PKD got worse. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to implement a renal diet for him despite knowing his medical condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants, permanent injunction, compensatory damages, court costs and any further relief the court grants. He is represented by Steven J. Yatvin and Alison R. Leff of Barack Ferrazzano Kirschbaum & Nagelberg LLP in Chicago.
