Restaurant workers sue Anthony Donato and his restaurants for unpaid wages

Law money 04

CHICAGO — Four restaurant employees are suing Anna’s Cafe LLC, which does business as Anna’s Gaming Cafe; Donato Restaurant Group Inc., which does business as Marquee Restaurant; and Anthony Donato, owner, citing alleged unpaid wages and violation of workers compensation acts.

Barbara Ruiz, Jesse Campos, Sofia Rosario and Terry Lopez filed a complaint on March 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois against the defendants alleging that they failed to properly compensate the plaintiffs for their work.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege they worked more than 40 hours weekly without being paid adequate overtime compensation. The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to pay overtime wages to them despite qualifying for those wages.

The plaintiffs seek overtime wages due, statutory damages, injunction against the defendant, court costs and any further relief this court grants. They are represented by Bryan Pacheco of Consumer Law Group LLC in Chicago.
