CHICAGO — A man is suing Elmwood Care, a nursing facility, on behalf of his deceased mother, citing alleged negligence for failing to prevent a fall.

John Monaco, as independent administrator of the estate of Giovannia Monaco, filed a complaint on April 7 in Cook County Circuit Court alleging the defendant failed to provide proper care to Giovannia Monaco.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Monaco experienced pain from suffering a fall on April 2, 2015. The plaintiff holds Elmwood Care responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide adequate supervision and assistance to Monaco to address her risk of falling, and the suit claims the injuries she sustained that day led to her death on April 11, 2015.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,00 plus court costs. He is represented by the Law Offices of Barry G. Doyle P.C. in Orland Park.
