CHICAGO — A New York woman is suing ARS National Services Inc., a debt collector, alleging they made calls to her in violation of debt collection statutes.

Phoebe Wilson filed a complaint on May 2 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois alleging the collection agency contacted the plaintiff despite knowing that she is already being represented by a law firm.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, in 2015, ARS National Services, Inc. knew she was being represented by counsel, through the Chicago Legal Clinic's Legal Advocates for Seniors and People with Disabilities program, but continued to call her regarding a debt.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual and statutory damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by David J. Philipps, Mary E. Philipps and Angie K. Robertson of Philipps & Philipps Ltd. in Palos Hills.
