CHICAGO — A man is bringing suit against Freeman Electrical Inc., Freeman Expositions Inc. f/k/a Freeman Decorating Inc., ABSS Manufacturing Co. Inc. and Sunset Ladder Co. Inc., alleging they took insufficient steps to prevent injury.

Carlos Pike filed a complaint on May 23 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants alleging they failed to provide a proper working stepladder to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges he was injured when he was working as a carpenter for the defendants and fell to the ground when a stepladder failed to support his weight. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to warn the plaintiff of the hazardous condition of the stepladder.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. He is represented by Michael B. Gunzburg of Parente & Norem P.C. in Chicago.
