The Atrium allegedly failed to prevent man's bedsores, pneumonia and other illnesses

CHICAGO — A woman is suing The Atrium Health Care Center Ltd. on behalf of a deceased relative, alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent multiple health issues.

Fannie Miles, independent administrator of the estate of David Haywood, filed a complaint on May 25 in Cook County Circuit Court alleging the facility failed to provide proper care to Haywood.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Haywood developed pressure ulcers, pneumonia, septicemia and other health conditions. The plaintiff holds The Atrium Health Care Center responsible because it allegedly failed to provide adequate supervision and assistance to Haywood.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by David G. Pribyl of Dudley & Lake LLC in Libertyville.
