CHICAGO — A woman is suing Presence Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center, Presence Resurrection Medical Center, Presence Health Partners Services and Marian J. Kowalczyk M.D., alleging negligence for failing to treat her husband's heart condition.

Wioletta Swierzbinski, guardian of the estate of Robert Swierzbinski, disabled, filed a complaint on June 8 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants alleging they failed to provide proper medical care to Robert Swierzbinski when he was admitted complaining of chest pain and weakness in June 2016.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Swierzbinski was severely injured from suffering a heart attack, which led to an anoxic brain injury. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to properly treat Swierzbinski despite being aware of an abnormal electrocardiogram.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Edward W. McNabola and Terrance M. Nofsinger of McNabola & Associates LLC in Chicago.
