Villa at South Holland LLC accused of allowing patient to fall out of bed, suffer head injuries

CHICAGO — A patient is suing the Villa at South Holland LLC for alleged negligence and for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent her from falling out of bed.

Zella Poole filed a complaint on July 11 in the Cook County Circuit Court, alleging that the defendant failed to provide her with proper medical care.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she fell out of bed in December 2015, allegedly sustaining a brain bleed and head injury that required six stitches. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to adequately supervise her to prevent the fall.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds $50,000 and court costs. She is represented by Jason M. Kellerman of Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates P.C. in Chicago.
