CHICAGO — Two companies are suing Tishman Realty Corp. and Tishman Construction Corporation of Illinois for alleged liability and negligently demolishing a property next to a store in the 100 block of S. State Street in Chicago.

Ulta Salon, Cosmetics and Fragrances Inc. and Starr Indemnity and Liability Company, an insurer, filed a complaint on Aug. 17 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants caused property damages to Ulta's store when dust and other particles entered the store. The dust and particles allegedly were caused by the defendants, who were demolishing a building next to the store. The plaintiffs claim Ulta had to close its businesses as the result of the demolition.

The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendants in the amount of $1.78 million, plus court costs, interest and any further relief this court grants. They are represented by Steven B. Belgrade, John A. O'Donnell and Patrick J. Cullinan of Belgrade and O'Donnell P.C. in Chicago.
