Medtronic Inc., MacNeal Hospital, others accused of negligence during hysterectomy

CHICAGO — A woman is suing Medtronic Inc. and affiliated corporate entities; Tenet Healthcare Corporation; MacNeal Hospital; Chicago Health Medical Group; Dr. Sandra Vega, and three nurses for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.

Jacqueline Goldman filed a complaint on Aug. 14 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging she sustained serious physical injuries after pieces of a medical device allegedly fell insider her abdomen during a hysterectomy, and allegedly remained there after the procedure. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to properly perform a hysterectomy on her.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by the Law Office of E. Lynette Stone in Dallas and the Law Office of Erika C. Norton in Chicago.
