Altek Information Technology Inc., employee accused of firing employee because he is gay

Wrongful term 11

CHICAGO — An employee is suing Altek Information Technology Inc. and Anne Lipman for alleged discrimination and wrongful termination.

Alex Martinez filed a complaint on Aug. 21 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging he was fired from his position as Altek's Midwest Regional Director because of his sexual orientation. Martinez further alleged Altek created a hostile and "pervasivel sexually offensive business culture and environment." Martinez alleged the company claimed it fired him for misusing company credit cards, but that the accusation was used as a pretext to justify his termination.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages of at least $60,000, plus attorney fees and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Jacob Meister & Associates in Chicago.
