CHICAGO — A woman and her infant child are suing Northwest Community Hospital, Gynecological & Obstetric Associates S.C. and doctors Madhuri Verma, Jill Placek and Josh Tunca for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.
Alice Joyce Kowski filed a complaint on Aug. 25 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging her child sustained serious and permanent physical injuries, including cerebral palsy after the defendants, among other things, allegedly failed to properly monitor fetal heart rate patterns. The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $35,000.
