The lawsuit filed by Proxy Saunders, as Independent Administrator for the Estate of Yvette Saunders, Deceased, against Symphony Beverly, LLC, Maestro Consulting Services, LLC, Lifeline Ambulance, LLC, Oak Lawn Respiratory and Rehabilitation Center, LLC, Infinity Healthcare Management, LLC, Oak Lawn Realty, LLC, Valerie Perkovic and Ambren Qureshi was decided on March 4th 2024 in the Appellate Court of Illinois. In 2019 Proxy Saunders filed a case against Symphony Beverly and others alleging that Yvette Saunders suffered falls and infections while at Symphony's nursing home which ultimately led to her death. Additionally Lifeline Ambulance was accused of delaying medical treatment contributing to her injuries and death. A settlement was reached in August 2022 totaling $195,000 with $100k from Symphony and $40k from Lifeline Ambulance.
The plaintiff sought entry of judgment for costs and interest due to defendants' failure to issue settlement checks within 30 days. However the trial court denied this motion stating that an order from the probate division approving a bond or other security required to administer the settlement was necessary before the defendants were required to tender settlement checks.
