Voltstar Technologies sues Salom America Company for patent infringement

Voltstar Technologies, Inc. has filed a lawsuit against Salom America Company for patent infringement in the United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois, under the case number 1:24-cv-03242 on April 23, 2024. The plaintiff is represented by the law firm SRIPLAW with offices in California, Georgia, Indiana, Florida, Tennessee and New York. The complaint alleges that Salom America Company infringed upon Voltstar's patents including U.S. Patent No. 7,910,833; U.S. Patent No. 7,960,648; and U.S. Patent Number 9,024,581 which was reissued as Patent Number RE48,794 E.

The patented technology in question pertains to a charger plug with an improved package design that prevents it from blocking adjacent outlets or interfering with nearby objects when plugged into a source of AC power. This invention was created by James W. McGinley, Donald Rimdzius and David P. Marcusen before May 21, 2008 and was assigned to Horizon Technologies Inc., which later changed its name to Voltstar Technologies Inc.

The plaintiff seeks permanent injunctive relief and monetary damages resulting from the defendant's alleged patent infringement.
