Pallet falls on a man at Menards Inc., man sues

John Nieckula filed suit Oct. 29 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Menards Inc. for  negligence.

According to Nieckula, he was at the Menards Inc. store at 6100 East Ave. in Hodgkins, when a pallet fell on him and caused him to fall. Nieckula claims he was loading bales of insulation into a trailer when the pallet fell.

He is accusing Menards Inc. of failing to properly maintain the store in a safe manner. He is suing under Illinois' Premises Liability Act.

Nieckula is seeking more than $50,000 in damages. He is being represented by Chicago attorney Bradley A. Skafish.
