Man allegedly injured leaving McDonald's files lawsuit

Ruben Melgarejo is suing McDonald's over injuries he allegedly sustained when he slipped and fell on its premises.

Melgarejo filed suit on Dec. 2 against the McDonald's at 6000 Broadview Village Square in Broadview. According to his complaint, Melgarejo tripped on an uneven surface or a crack in the ground near the exit in December 2011.

He claims he was injured internally and externally and suffered severe shock to his nervous system. Melgarejo is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented by Paul G. O'Toole.
