Construction worker falls from ladder, sues

A man is suing over claims he fell from a ladder while working.

Roman Jozef Zarychta filed a lawsuit Nov. 7 in the Circuit Court of Cook County against Best Quality Builder of Illinois Inc., Grzegorz Janowski and Courtyard at Glenayre Town Home Owners Association, citing negligence and premise liability.

According to the complaint, Zarychta sustained serious injuries  on July 11, when he fell off a ladder during his course of work at 1001 Waukegan Road in Glenview. He claims the the ladder was placed on ground that was slippery due to fruit and debris on the ground.

The suit alleges the defendants committed numerous negligent acts, including failing to provide a safe work environment, maintain the area in a reasonably safe condition, clean the dangerous condition and allowed workers to set up the ladders in a dangerous area.

The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $50,000. He is being represented by Faklis & Tallis and Iwona Pankowska & Associates PC.
