Kenneth Tesar filed a class action lawsuit Oct. 24 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Safeguard Properties LLC.
Tesar is seeking to certify a class of proposed plaintiffs he claims been wrongly forced out of their foreclosed homes. He claims Safeguard has unlawfully and coercively disposed occupants by shutting off utilities, removing personal property and lying to them.
He claims Safeguard's conduct amount to a violation of the Consumer Fraud Act, invasion of privacy, conversion and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Tesar is seeking an undisclosed amount in damages and is being represented by Chicago attorney Zane D. Smith.
