Consuelo Guerrero filed suit Nov. 13 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Target Corp. over alleged injuries she sustained in one of its stores.

According to Guerrero, she was at the Target at 2930 W. Addison St. in Chicago on Aug. 23, 2012, when a piece from a display fell off the wall and struck her in the leg. She claims she suffered injuries from the incident as a result of Target's negligence and failure to provide a safe place for customers to shop.

Guerrero is seeking more than $50,000 in damages. She is being represented by Chicago attorney Jeffrey J. Kroll.
