A man is being sued over allegations he made defamatory claims about former coworkers.
Todd Berman and Steve Drake filed a lawsuit Oct. 17 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Roy Carr, citing defamation and false light.
Both plaintiffs are employed by Berman Auto Group in Cook County, where Carr worked as the director of fixed operations up until earlier this year.
According to the complaint, an email account allegedly used by Carr sent emails to at least six other accounts containing defamatory remarks and accusations about the plaintiffs.
The plaintiffs claim the remarks included in the emails have hurt their public and professional standing and are seeking $100,000 in damages, costs and attorney's fees.
They are being represented in the case by attorney Laura E. Fahey of Gordon & Karr LLP.
