Property to be taken by eminent domain listed in filing

By Thomas Kallies | Dec 31, 2013

The Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority (MPEA) filed suit in July in the Cook County Circuit Court against Lakeside Bank.

The suit also names Cook County Treasurer Maria Pappas and Cook County Clerk David Orr as defendants.

According to the complaint, MPEA has been authorized to obtain certain properties through eminent domain in order to make improvements upon the land.

In its filing, MPEA outlines properties it seeks to obtain through eminent domain. All of the owners of these properties have not been identified and MPEA's filing seeks to make the takings public record.

MPEA is seeking court approval and valuation of the takings and is being represented by Neal and Leroy LLC.
