Sodexo, Loyola University Medical Center sued after man falls over extension cord

A man is suing over claims he fell while visiting the Loyola University Medical Center.

George Flammond filed a lawsuit Nov. 8 in the Circuit Court of Cook County against Sodexo America LLC and Loyola University Medical Center, citing negligence.

The plaintiff alleges he sustained serious injuries on Nov. 11, 2011, when he tripped and fell over an extension cord while a visitor at Loyola at 2160 S. First Ave. in Maywood.

According to the complaint, Sodexo America was hired by Loyola to clean the floors and negligently allowed an extension cord toimpede the walkway.

The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $50,000. He is being represented by J. Richard Hisaw & Associates.
