A woman is suing over claims she tripped at a retail warehouse store.

Marlo Messner filed a lawsuit Nov. 20 in Cook County Circuit Court against Restaurant Depot LLC, doing business as Jetro Cash & Carry, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Messner sustained serious injury on Aug. 30 when she tripped at the defendant's retail warehouse store at 1030 W. Division St. in Chicago.

The plaintiff states Jetro maintained railings that were a tripping hazard, inhibited customers from safety accessing walk-in freezers, failed to warn about the condition of the railings, failed to maintain the area around the freezers and failed to assist her in obtaining appropriate medical care after suffering injuries.

Messner is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and is being represented in the case by Matthew P. Barrette and Ryan A. Mahoney of Sullivan Hincks & Conway.
